Hi, welcome to Clandy Cottage. I am Claire, the main person behind Clandycottage! I started this business with my husband Andy after he had his stroke in 2018. Andy is a keen woodworker and I wanted to encourage him to rebuild his life after his medical retirement. First of all we just had stall at craft fairs in 2019.
Then we had Covid, which ended the craft fairs for about 2 years. During lock down I started my soy wax cup candles using what I had on hand and making gnomes (gonks). We opened our Etsy shop in 2021 with 6 gonks. Since then our range has grown into general cottage home decor, now specialising in home fragrance using soy wax.
Andy is no linger such an active partner as his health has deteriorated. He no longer can manage the long hours in his workshop, but very much my chief supporter. He likes to slowly work on making gifts for the family which I will be sharing from time to time.
